Afternoon,
I work in the water treatment industry and the QA program discussed on the bio website is usually farmed out by Water Treatment plants to an independent lab for testing...costs of which are not cheap. Legionella is of big concern in NZ with numerous breakouts particularly in the south island and i see biomerieux are targeting this test as a potential for improvement. The delays between sample collection and testing at an outside lab or waiting for a confirmation of results is a huge problem and our business is currently looking for ways to reduce costs of this QA, make existing testing in house more effective and/or reduce the dead time between sampling and results. Similar to troponin test issues i believe.
Needless to say if Mix&Go gets involved in the water industry then its time for blast off.
