Atlas has made about 50 acquisitions to build a portfolio of resources and port capacity to help meet a production target of 46 million tons a year by 2017, Mr Flanagan said.

I only followed AGO since early 2009. I'm aware of the 4 acquisitions they've made so far: Warwick Resources, Aurox Resources, Giralia Resources, FerrAus. Also the strategic stake in CTM, plus previous buying out Abydos.
But I didn't know they made about 50 deals in terms of M&A. Amazing.
I really like David Flanagan, a man with vision, strategy, and execution. If previous indications were correct that Atlas will eventually get their own railway, most likely this will be for their Southeast Pilbara Hub ie. Warwick tenements and FerrAus.
This will prove greatly that DMA can be a target by AGO, supporting:
- gaining a large land access under their control
- supports the rail justification to build there
- achieve further economies of scale in the Southeast Pilbara.
Well, BCI, MOL, BRM, WNI could also look to further consolidate.
So DMA is in the prime position, when we are near Newman.
