I was from Singapore and I know SPC (or Singapore Petroleum Corporation) has been investing in Australia Oil & Gas stocks over the last few years.
SPC is one of the 1000 plus companies that constitute the Government Link Corporations (GLC) in Singapore.
When you are in Singapore in a taxi, you will notice there are many SPC petrol stations all over the sunny island of Singapore/.
It has always amused me (and I am not saying this sarcastically), but there are quite a few people who cant' distinguish a Singaporean Chinese from an Indonesian Chinese, to a Korean, to a Japanese and to a pure cHINA cHINESE.
The same way - some are equating Singapore and China.
