Its an interesting view and observation that you make Marco as you try to bring a cooling to aspect to rdncoic's comments, but what it leaves me thinking is how well do you understand what MOKO has and is creating. It's very easy to get lost in the top line type info as it is the easiest info to deal with.
What we are seeing from MOKO (and in this example/discussion) is a RECit offering that is in line with what they have proposed and more importantly aligned to where Connected Community Multi-Media products/services are going. The entire social media world is struggling to make real genuine connection with the end user. MOKO has already established a strong footprint into this new environment, and is tracking very well. So in relation to the RECit community versus semesters, yes that will initially have some impact as MOKO builds their user base but after that, the community will and probably already has begun to take a on a life of its own, where semesters as per your point will be less relevant and give way to a year round connection.
The key words are Connected Communities, and understanding what this really means and its conversion to business customers etc. Connected Communities are now in our present, they are very powerful in conversion, but there are very few models that are in play at present.
This is not a magic show connected communities come from Strong Context (Moko has this) - from Rich Core and exclusive Content (Moko has this) - from Connection and in particular exclusive connection (Moko has this) From Conversion to $ - All the previous ingredients must be done well and RECit must be solving a problem to both the wider student community and their many and intricate sub communities, this also includes in this case those companies wanting to reach these valuable communities (Moko's RECit has this baked in and in this case exclusively)
RECit is pulling together all the fractured communities and individuals to a centre resource Hub that solves problems at multiple levels, this is where successful business models make money.
RECit will hit an unknown tipping point sooner than later an it will bear no resemblance to an "in or out" of semester observation, what is also very important is the extremely powerful overlapping of MOKO's communities, this I think has been a very important point that has been missed by most comments in this forum...the power of MOKO's overlapping communities is becoming considerable and conversion within this overlap will be significant. This is not a future estimation, you can see this formation and overlapping occurring now, and these things as most should know,initially take time to which MOKO have already bedded in a considerable base.
