re: names / novac Novac - On Crete (largest Greek Island in the Cycladic group) their spirit is called Raki - or Tsikoudia. Distilled from grapes and often so strong that it would blow your head off!
Most of the locals make their own - and we enjoy getting to know the locals !!!! LOL

Ouzo is completely different - the aniseed tasting spirit.

When I tried to get Raki as my nic on HC it was already in use (though I've never seen a post from him/her)
so I had to add the 'a' and became Rakia.
