Suprised no-one has actually read or commented on the abstract.
They are saying that they have found the reasons that the temperature did not rise.
One of them is that an increase in sulphur emissions (natural I assume) has partially offset the increase in CO2. And the Sun has not provided as much energy to the atmosphere.
