Archaeo,
Not sure about the IP issues, they have been working with the university of Maryland, so no doubt can prove their science is independent.
The products ability to scale from 2kw to 80kw gives it great flexibility in targeting a range of businesses, one which BlueGen does not currently have. Obviously its not even in production yet, they talk of making it cheap, but we all know that production volumes are required for this, so they have a way to go yet.
Don't discount the US as a market though, not sure why anyone would ignore the largest economy in the world! Yes, we need to focus on europe first and the US market may need a few years to warm up, but ignoring the largest economy in the world, with the cheapest gas would be just plain stupid.
Lastly, the Cube has been getting an enormous amount of press (hence an article on Business Spec), with significant traction on Twitter, I've seen people from Canberra and Perth post links, yet I guarantee they wouldn't know what a BlueGen is.....CFU need to work harder to generate some big PR / news stories to lift its profile again at the next opportunity. They need to talk about their VPP, milestones ((installations, carbon savings) and other features (efficiency, carbon saving, price reductions) that make BlueGen appealing and make sure everyone knows this is out there happening now, not launching in 12 months time!
Focusing on sales and installations is important, but they should be pumping up the free media much more than they are at the moment.
