You are trying to look for logic. I would suggest that's probably not a good idea.
Stocks can and are being manipulated everyday to make them look stronger or weaker.

For instance the 10 million sitting at 1c as a buyer.
It makes the buy side look stronger by numbers only.

He knows he won't get the stock at 1c so why be there.
He might as well put on an order for 50 million then the buy side will look even stronger.

The sellers are happy to sell now below 5c because they are concerned it will go back to 4c.

The buyers were happy to pay 6c earlier today because they thought it was going to 8c.

Why didn't those that are selling now below 5c not sell this morning at 6c or better.

I think I just answered that question.
