real estate agents now urban celebrities?

Open up the real estate section in any local rag and you'll have a full page spread detailing a real estate agent and the greatness they claim to have achieved for their agency and local community.

Seriously, what is it with these real estate agents of the modern era? Do they think they deserve some sort of recognition or status in the local community, for example a 'B' Grade Urban Celebrity.

I opened our local Real Estate section a few days ago and came across a full page spread about an Agent who came 11th out of 100 in some auctioning competition which apparently boosted the best in Australia (spare me, who gives a rats toss bag anyway). Like lets stand up and give this dude a round of applause for mediocracy, he came 11th.

Should we congratulate The Titans in the NRL and Essendon in the AFL who also came 11th in 2012?

Real Estate Agents want two things a sale and your money and as much of it they can get their grubby hands on. The deceit and trickery these scumbags use is disgusting.
