I don't hate Real Estate agents. I do think that they are grossly overpaid for what they do, but I don't necessarily begrudge them for that even, a lot of people are overpaid for the work they actually do. What I do hate is the smug, self-congratulatory attitude as though they deserve a large commission for getting a few photos taken, putting an add on realestate.com.au and putting on a few home opens.
For every agent doing 6-7 days of long hours, there's another 50 cruising along doing bare minimum (or less). The number of home opens I went to where the agent not only made no effort to actually sell the positives of the house, but had no knowledge of the area (not even stuff a google search would tell you) or even simple shit like whether the house had NBN/FTTP/FTTN.
