Do you believe that the COVID-19 trial results are significant given the 77% reduction in mortality at day 90 in under 65s with a p value of 0.0037? If Rem-l and dex were given at the start of the pandemic 94,000+ lives could have been saved in the under 65s age group.
I think the COVID-19 trial was a significant failure on the part of the DSMB and NIH given the mortality reduction seen at day 60 and 90 in under 65s. Noting that this age group/sub population was pre-specified in the SAP and made up 56% of enrolled patients. Clearly the 30 day endpoint was not clinically significant in measuring the patient mortality outcomes in severely ill covid patients with ARDS.
