I do think the new posting guidelines have a lot to do with the low level of postings in this forum.

I feel postings in this forum should not be moderated on the same basis as those applying to stock-specific forums. No money changes hand in political exchanges, only exchanges of ideas/views/biases. The only thing that should be moderated is when things are said that can damage person or persons' reputation(s) and thus the over-ridng guideline should be the law of libel.

Political issues are dry issues and to be able to focus only on them does require the committed. Not allowing the occasional banters in this forum will see posters shy away from entering the room. It does need some "wild west" touch.

I look at the Politics and General forums as a place where people can come in to have some respite from the stock market, especially at times like this.

Just my two cents worth of thoughts.
