kevqaz......I know what you mean, but I live in a smallish country town up the coast so that limits my choices. An exact quote was difficult cos it involved demolishing, re-designing & re-framing part of the old roof & some existing timber had to be replaced but he did tell me about 2wks. This guy was licensed & built some stairs a portico & hung doors on my daughters house which turned out ok but clearly the roof was beyond him. Not many building supplies left to ask cos Bunnings have moved in up here. I think the writing was on the wall on day one when he turned up late cos his roof racks collapsed up the road & I had to help him unload the rafters (the ones that were too short) onto the side of the road. I just hate paying for "experts" mistakes when I can make them myself for free.
