"Everyone _ or almost everyone _ is fairly dark on zinc at present. But someone close to the industry makes this point: about 25 per cent of steel in the West is galvanised with zinc, but only 5 per cent of steel made in China is given this protection. Steel prices have rocketed and anyone building a bridge, railway line or mine must consider how they can make that steel last as long as possible. Hence galvanising with zinc."
