Appreciate the comment and I know you are sincere in that.
However the reality of the situation will only present itself if she gets pregnant - but at that stage remember they would still have to rent and that would be a problem, they are resourceful enough to go into working from home, have a niece who had that happen recently and from working for Deloittes on a huge income she now works from home and is making less but has more. The cabinetmaker with his wife will set up from home as do a whole legion of tradies today.
As stated before you worry about too many ifs but we have all been through the same and each generation has a tale to tell. In my time affordability was also an issue as was the fact that lending practices were very tight and we earned nothing until we got into our 30's - whereas you young bucks make figures that make us blush.
