in two years time wife falls pregnant and she stops working...they struggle for another 6 months (after birth)and decide to sell ("it's putting pressure on us, we are constantly worried and stressed out and fighting...it's just not worth it...")

and that's when they discover that, not only have they just been handing money over to the bank in exchange for a priviledge of living in a dump but the "property market is in a bit of a dip" and with all this "new" property on the market (remember...arab money building all over the place...he he he) not many people are prepared to pay what we need to get, in order just to remain on a positive zero...

(initial 400 000 + interest(60 000) + repair costs + all those hours they spent "improving" so the place is "sort of" liveable...)

if only they could learn to live like dogs for another 8-10 years and "ride it out"...that's when the gains come in !!!

brilliant plan for the future !

and all that, thanks to property speculators !
