I can' see connected wi-fi being a threat to Freeway as;
1. wi-fi limited range
2. wi-fi reliability and speed
3. wi-fi generally has data caps
4. wi-fi connection hurdles
Only speaking from my experience here in Aus though, I don't even bother with free wi-fi connections in public, too many hurdles, too slow and unreliable. Freeway offers the path of least resistance for internet access.
