Divorces and settlements are often reasons for liquidation of personal and/or joint holdings.
There does seem to be a lot of surging and fallback going on which is probably due to sell/buy game playing while the SP is close to one of the calculated values (MacQ).
Other than that, there does seem to be more reasons to hold rather than sell while the determination of the total resource is still in the early stages.
