Australia needs Indonesia far more than indo needs aus. We need their influence in Asia, a trading partner and key force for stability in the region.
We're just a gnat to them.
As with all diplomacy this is just chest beating for domestic politics. There is little Abbott can do other than ride it out and let DFAT clean up their mess.
