    Tassie would have been 100% hydro except the Tasmanian Dams case put a stop to that. They had to keep the coal fired power station going to maintain supply.

    Later there was a brainwave to put an extension lead from Tasmania to Victoria and the East Coast and South Australia Grid.

    All was going great until the dams were sucked dry and the extension lead broke. The solution was to ship in Agrekko diesel hire generators to keep the lights on in Tasmania. Fuel load was 14 Million litres of diesel a week for that little hairbrained scheme.

    Of course with shutting down the "polluting" oil refineries so other nations could prifit from our misery, the dollar cost to the nation due to the farce was huge.

    And don't forget when the wind blew too hard and South Australia was in total blackout for a long time
