Oh and HotRock, yes, geologists are a very interesting group of people. Hard drinkers all, possessed of possibly the worst fashion sense known to mankind, and a lot of the symptoms of Asperger's Syndrome (strange devotion to boring things (rocks), zero social skills), and above all... the BEARD.

Never trust a male field geologist without a beard. I never shave in the field. Once I didn't shave for five months and grew an awesome beard that a Jihadi would be proud of, and finally felt accepted by the grizzled old timers who'd been working on rigs since the 60s.

To keep this on topic to CTP, I work with a guy who worked extensively with CTP's chief geo, back when they were both growing beards with the Northern Territory Geological Survey. He has a very high opinion of CTP's guy, and said that while he didn't personally think there was much left to find in the Amadeus other than tight gas, if there is oil there, this guy is the one who will find it.
