So the money that has gone into each house is approximately the same +/- around $60-80k

They are all near identical in floor space and spec

Top price - $3,007,000.00
Bottom price - $2,615,000.00

That's a difference of $392,000.00 for differing styling.

Either somebody overpaid by a lot or somebody got a bargain.

I would suggest that a bank valuation of each property would yield approximately the same figure.
