The elephant in the room is the likelihood that of the 187 arsonists arrested there were quite a few terrorists, who worked out that lighting fires in these conditions would be a cheap and effective method of causing chaos in Australia. The chances of none of these deranged individuals being a terrorist is very slim. The authorities no doubt have good reason not to publicise the reality.
Even the distribution of many fires near to populated areas indicates a likely significant connection with arson, ranging from 'naughty little boys' to terrorists.
