JACKSON Gold has been buoyed by deep drilling at its Claypan Dam project near Kalgoorlie that confirmed the presence of primary gold mineralisation.

Two of four holes drilled below the oxide zone recorded significant assays - 2m at 5.7 grams per tonne from 62m depth and 14m at 2.62gpt from 80m, including 2m at 7.46gpt from 91m.

Jackson said some of the mineralisation occurred in the oxidised portion of the shear "however higher-grade intercepts were consistently reported from the primary zone".

Claypan Dam currently has supergene mineralisation totalling 937,075 tonnes grading 2.41gpt for a contained 72,633 ounces.

Jackson's shares were up from 13 cents to 15.5 cents on the day of the announcement.
