Maybe the lack of uptake by builders is the variation in the block/bricks and the issues this causes when only using a very thin layer of construction adhesive. In traditional construction the mortar takes up any variation in the blocks to keep the walls level and plumb. With the Hadrian only using a much thinner layer of construction adhesive they then need to use the wedges etc. Possibly this is what builders don't like ?
