Saw your link. I can't see any reason why Tls should go down when AUD goes up. Some of their borrowings are in foreign currencies and a higher AUD should reduce the value of these liabilities so Tls should go up not down.
It is possible that foreign investors are selling all AUD assets to cash in on the currency's rise, including Telstra shares, to repatriate it to their home currency. But that wouldn't explain why the likes of FMG are going up when the AUD strengthens.
