They have been providing a superior service for years, anyone after a cheap price can go with iinet or other telcos who compete on price rather then quality. I was with iinet when they first began in the mid 90s and again in mid '00s thinking they have improved. Once my contract with them expired I returned to Telstra.
Unfortunately a lot of people who moved away from Telstra found the service with the new provider appalling but are too proud to admit they made a mistake so they will move to other providers in search of good service and continue to knock Telstra.
I'm only on wireless and mobile phone now and don't mind paying the premium to receive a superior service which is available country wide.
In fact Telstra's service is so superior the sponges are starting to demand access to the NextG network.
