    POSTED IN VCR FORUM -

    1. VCR has NO product pipeline. Once their current pump has run its course they have serve problems....what next? HTW has the MVAD coming. Its already in prototype stage and ready to be implanted in less than 24 months (and its very easy to manufacturer quickly). The product does not require the sternum to be opened and suits people who are a not such a serve stage of heart failure.
    2. HTW has address all manufacturing issues. They have also just rented a new $5million facility previously occupied by J&J which will last them at a min. 5 years. Its a "turn key" factory. Manufacturing is not a problem in the new factory.
    3. The implants have been slow because they do not get paid for implanting in Europe, It costs them money so their is NO incentive to keep going. The US is the market they want due to cash flow and explains why they focused on getting the IDE rather than the CE mark. Selling in Europe requires marketing dollars.
    4. Doctors have no incentive to transfer to VCR from Thoratec. It much the same as the Thoratec pump in size and operation and Thoratec offers excellent support. The both have approximately the same life span and both require a pocket in the abdomen so why would a doctor spend the time to learn a new technique. Just because its a 3rd generation pump will NOT cause doctors to switch.
    5. Volume in HTW will never be large as over 77% (maybe 80% now) is held by institutions and other private investors. They are not day traders. Just look at the depth on an average day of VCR and HTW.
    6. Note the director purchases in HTW and sales in VCR
    7. HTW moves straight in the "pivotal trial" and therefore does not include a feasibility or pilot phase saving 9 months.
    8. HTW will move corporate office to the US saving large administration costs. Shares will trade like Resmed CDIs
    9. World Heart is likely to be delisted from NASDAQ so its day may be over too.
    10. Clearly a fast clinical pick up of HTW will mean the end of VCR, why have second rate choice for the sake of it?
