Hi all,
There's been a lot of posts today speculating on the reason for the Trading Halt (mostly without any substantiation).
So I thought it would be beneficial to make a post (which albeit may be inaccurate) is substantiated somewhat by using a process of elimination.
As we all know per today's announcement:
"It is expected that the Company will make an announcement regarding the acquisition of Isicebi Carbon Mining".
Therefore it would be reasonable to infer that the announcement may have some connection with Comdek's agreement with ICM.
CDS's previous announcement dated 10 March 08 stated:
The agreements are conditional on Comdek and Lukale obtaining regulatory and shareholder approval within 120 days of executing the agreements. All parties to the transaction have agreed upon an extension for a further 120 days to allow for this remaining condition to be met.
Therefore it's also reasonable to infer that the Trading Halt could relate to either:
1) Regulatory approval (i.e. SARB approval/non-objection)which would satisfy the condition.
2) Amendment to agreement/condition (i.e. another extension).
However, as the previous 120 day extension has not expired (since 10 March 08) though it is getting close, the 1st option appears plausible.
Any thoughts?
