The issue is that posts like the ones you refer to include terms that sound 'vaguely correct' whether or not they are correct within the context they are being presented.
It is one of the worst aspects of HotCopper. When you call them out, they accuse you have having rose coloured glasses on. Reality is most posters here want to hear the bear and bull scenarios, but you rarely get well balanced discussion because people have their own agendas.
