I think there’s some very good reasons to suggest a positive decision by Cabinet today:
- If Cabinet members we’re inclined to go with Yeo then there wouldn’t be any point in Cabinet meeting
- Amanda is confident of a resolution and Board members have purchased shares recently
- In 2013 Prime Minister in waiting Anwar Ibrahim promised to back Lynas should a new public inquiry prove the plant was safe
- In 2011 the current a Prime Minister supported Lynas
- Any other decision may be subject to legal action by Lynas
- Lynas’s position is supported by facts and is international best practice
- Japan and US have expressed concerns
- Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof has recently come out with some positive comments and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has come out in support of Redzuan (she is also Anwar Ibrahim’s wife). Why would they do that if they weren’t confident of the numbers?
