Completely agree. The only problem we have here is the competitiveness to be the 1st to mine. I don't know when the bad blood started, but you only have to look at some interviews to see it's very much there. One doesn't constantly repeat how happy you are to be able to announce news "on time" if you're not making a statement!! How about being "thrilled" with the content of the announcement if it's so good?? If someone were to call the AVL office I think the statement would read something like "we wish TMT all the best, but currently we are concentrating on getting finance for a facility that can handle only the capacity we are able to run through it". Whispers I've heard (from some other holders) is there is a very large investor in that company who is almost impossible to deal with, and who runs it like it's his own private play thing. Who knows, but as long as he's there I'm told, don't hold your breathe.
I'm a very recent holder of TMT though. I don't mind it at these levels. Why the two companies don't just amalgamate in some form is beyond me. The problem I believe is that there is so much more land for AVL to drill, and the consensus is that the JORC is only a fraction of what it will be in a couple of years. Heck, the "reported" figures make the two deposits look almost the same (which itself annoys the you know what out of me as a holder since YRR).
Anyway Scarpa, as you pointed out, these two companies better watch themselves moving ahead. Combined, this deposit is as good as any on the planet, and raising $500 million for the plant should be a lay up. As individuals you can see (as they haven't raised anything) it's a bit more fragile, and while I'm very comfortable with my large AVL holding and my growing TMT position, they better get their S$%! together quick. It wouldn't shock me if there are plenty of others like me who could go all in on the first to raise the money to go mining.
People will attack me for saying it, but I think the first move has to come from TMT, and as a holder (as of today) I'd be happy with that. There is no shame on piggybacking on a much larger deposit and not having to worry about the finance side. The two CEO's seem very qualified, and even AVL would have to admit the increase in deposit size wouldn't exactly hurt their ability to quickly secure the cash. Boy I tell you, if something like this would happen, the share price of these two companies would explode!
Anyway, I'm starting to bore even myself. La La Land is a great place to visit once in a while though! Back to watching TMT. I could actually pick up some today at 18c!!
