ACCC chairman made an interesting point in his address to the National Press Club on how effective mobile phone competition was and attributing this to the existence of seperate phone networks.
"These results show that the benefits of competition are most easily seen in markets where there is strong facilities- based competition. For example, the retail mobile phone market where there are a number of separate networks competing for wholesale customers, has most clearly demonstrated the benefits of full facilities-based competition.
With comments like that it makes me think TLS FTTN proposal has little chance of getting up as it would clearly entrench TLS broadband dominance no matter what undertakings were given.
