Crop estimates downgrade
Report: Rose Crane
The Co-operative Bulk Handling Group says it's expecting to downgrade its crop estimates again this season due to the impact of frost in the Kwinana zone. Operations manager Colin Tutt says a final crop tonnage is expected to be in the low 12 million tonne range, revised down from 12.8mt. The State's total receival is currently at 8.8mt, that's 68 per cent of the estimate. He says there's no doubt there's widespread frost through the Kwinana zone and that's reflected by the slow delivery of grain by growers in that area. He says to get to 12.8mt would be a struggle and he hopes they won't drop too far below 12.4mt.
