Volatile Volatire,
I don't use 'cycles' but I do test for time frames
where the market tends to oscillate around a trend
and use a number of bb's to trade from. At the
moment my shortest bands are 1 day, 2 1/2 days, 7
days and 17 days. What I have noticed is that sometimes there is an extended move for a full
oscillation period before a significant reversal.
For example one may be looking for the market to
rise and fall in a 7 trading day period, but instead there
is an extended move up for a full 7 days before it falls
sharply.
I think the specific date given in a 'cycle' may be more important than whether it is identified as a high or a
low in advance. The closer you get to the 'cycle point' the clearer it becomes whether it is likely to be a high or a low. It certainly seems that way with Armstrong's
2.15 year sub-divisions of the 8.6 year 'cycle'.
Regards
Andrew
