    • Recharge’s on-ground lithium exploration at Wapistan is progressing on schedule
    • Sampling completed over Targets 1 and 2, sent to lab for analysis
    • Exploration over Targets 3 and 4 to be completed when crews return in mid-October
    • LIDAR survey also completed over Wapistan, results due in coming weeks

Recharge Metals has sampled two of four promising lithium targets at its Wapistan project in Quebec’s James Bay region, and results are pending.

Recharge Metals (ASX:REC) added to its James Bay landholding with the late June acquisition of Wapistan, a piece of unexplored ground 10km from Q2 Metals’ (TSX-V:QTWO) Mia lithium project and Ophir Gold’s (TSX-V:OPHR) Radis lithium project.

Wapistan is also 120km north of REC’s flagship Express lithium project, providing the opportunity to work on the two projects simultaneously.

The company has now moved to test four high priority target areas at Wapistan after exploration at Mia and Radis confirmed spodumene-bearing pegmatites.

This successful exploration work proved to be the catalyst for both Ophir and Q2 to be re-rated over the past year – up 350% and 740% respectively.

It also provides encouragement that the pegmatite targets identified at Wapistan have the potential to host lithium-bearing pegmatites.

    Two down, two to go

These 4 targets at Wapistan were defined from a combination of high-resolution aerial and satellite imagery, historical outcrop mapping completed by Main Exploration Co in 1959, and a high-resolution drone magnetic survey completed by Northern Superior Resources in 2022.

Sampling by REC’s technical consultants, Dahrouge Geological Consulting, is now complete across Targets 1 and 2 with 22 samples submitted for analysis.

Traverses across Targets 3 and 4 to be completed when crews return to the field in mid-October.

A Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) survey has also been completed over the project with interpretation now underway and results expected in the coming weeks.

“We are very pleased with progress to date at Wapistan, and appreciate the dedication of our technical consultants Dahrouge Geological to maximise the ground covered to date,” managing director Felicity Repacholi said.

“We look forward to both assay results from the samples submitted, as well as seeing the data from the traverses across Targets 3 and 4 which are due to be completed in mid-October.

“Having recently viewed the ground myself from the helicopter I can attest to the scale of the opportunity at Wapistan; we are really just scratching the surface of the project in this initial field work!”
