Since posting the question about the impact of rain on the current cotton harvest I have been scanning the net for more info. Most articles are not accessable without a subscription although the below article on grain central is pretty good.

As for breaking up Namoi cotton I agree the company will be very relucant to do this and I think it will only occur is Terry Samuel assumes effective control of the board. Personally I’d prefer for the company to remain whole and prosper in the years ahead through expansion into new locations such as Northern Australia.
The movement in the share price has been interesting this week. Looking at the chart I can see that historically NAM’s share price tends to jump sharply higher and then fall back.
