COK cockatoo coal limited

recent floods in queensland

  1. 6,072 Posts.
Almost 400mm of rain has fallen on the Baralaba region between Friday and Sunday.

Coal prices might be set to go up again this year like it did in 2011 after the flooding that occurred then.

Coal producers won't need to stop mining - nature has done it for them but at least some will still be employed draining and removing water from the pits for possibly months.

One would think that it will have impact on metallurgical coal price given that Australia is the dominant producer in the world.

We will all have to wait and see.
