I think the point is that most large institutions will have rules by which they are allowed to invest. They may have less stringent rules for highly speculative funds, but in general they will have rules related to market cap, liquidity, revenue etc.

Yes the St Bakers et al might have the ear of institutions, but in this instance (a very good sign) they have invested their own money instead of gifting what they expect to be a profit opportunity to anyone else other than current shareholders and themselves.

(Trivia note: looking at Andrew Liveris' bio I reckon we were probably both pupils at Darwin Primary school in the early '60s (though not in the same class).

After that he seems to have made more of a mark than I did.
