Happy to comment anecdotally having a pretty good insight into the WA market. Over this side used car volume has bounced back in the predicted V shape. New cars is still doing it tough, but not as tough as forecast. Service depts are largely unaffected.
Finance lending has obviously tightened up, but those who can get it are taking it.
Who knows whether this flurry of used car sales will be temporary or sustained. It could just be that sales postponed in March/April are coming through. Or it could be that people tapping into their super funds now have sizable deposits. Time will tell, but it's not all doom and gloom as was predicted.
