Richie,
Not sure if you know much about the technology space but I am a MD of a enterprise based company.
Technology is more focused on growth rather than short term revenue. The Silicon Valley model is to capture a market quickly via customer aquisition and therefore lock out competition.
Peter Theil knows a thing or teo about this he was the founder and CEO of PayPal after all.
So in essence revenues today are irrelevant if you have a product that is growing like crazy and has passed the vital tipping point.
Need I remind you Yammer was recently purchased by Microsoft for $1.3 billion to bolt directly into MS Office on $20 million in 2011 revenue.
Why the high price? Yammer had 1000's of enterprise customers and they built a great product that was used throughout many S&P500 companies.
