Make an idiot of yourself, or even try, and it is funny; try to make a fool of someone else and it is never funny. Even if the so-called prank works as planned, if making your audience cringe can be called a plan, it still isn't funny -- just another form of bullying.
That said, from what I can gather, the radio presenters' foolishness is the epitome of commercial radio.
