There's been huge declines in burglary in recent years. Aside from general economic health one reason is the cheapness of most consumer goods and built in obsolescence. A decade ago you may have got $500 for a second hand VCR, now you'd be lucky to get $20 for a DVD player unless its the latest and greatest model - then you might get $50.
White collar crime is the big growth area. Stay away from office towers, the internet and people wearing suits.
