I believe a recession is defined as two minus quarters in succession. Apparently there has already been one this year. Some commentators are predicting another one coming up.
So how can Gillard and Swan say that the country is doing well? Most people I know are struggling with every day costs, some more than others.
Not a good time to impose more taxes.
