Time for the CSG industry to be out there, selling the moral, environmental, economic and social benefits of CSG.

Carbon Emission Reduction - the only technically achievable way to replace coal-fired power in the short term. Emission reductions of 40%-70%. Gas To Replace Coal.

Economic Development:

- Export Earnings
- Royalties
- Employment, both in construction and during operations
- Regional Development - at last, growth opportunities for regional Australia!
- Diversity of Income - both farmers and the economy alike cannot 'ride on the sheep's back' any longer. Particularly as the climate changes.

Exporting Environmental Benefits - not only does local gas-fired power reduce our carbon emissions, but exporting LNG allows other nations to reduce their carbon footprint.

Supporting Japanese Reconstruction - The Great Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami wiped out not only Fukushima nuclear facility, but will likely reduce Nuclear as part of the Japanese fuel mix. ESG has Japanese customers, ready and waiting to invest in our CSG. They want and need the gas. The Japanese people are currently suffering power shortages. And whilst we cannot get new LNG to them now, Australian LNG exports will provide the Japanese people with a safe and carbon-light power alternative. We have a moral duty to assist. Do we want another Fukushima? No!

Water - whilst the recent heavy rains and floods have replenished our river systems, it wasn't long ago that our rivers were dry and low, affecting both the environment and the communities that rely on them. Large amounts of treated CSG water, safely discharged into the rivers, assists in this most precious of resources.

Extra Income for Farmers/Graziers - a Source of extra income, over and above what they could earn from the same amount of land usage. Which is why the vast majority of farmers support the industry.

And, there are many, many other benefits. The industry needs to be out there, selling CSG as an environmental, economic and social benefit. Why be defensive when we are actually PROUD of this industry and the benefits it brings?

Time to regain the moral highground.
