    Hi Darly. I would think that if Minbos was to produce a NPK fertiliser, they would probably buy the K to add to their own P and N.

    Regarding, "I don't understand why Foskor wants 220ktpa next 5 years from MNB?"
    There are a few possibilities.

    1. Not enough coming from their own mine. However, I think we can easily rule this one out;
    "It is estimated that Foskor's Phalaborwa mines hold ore reserves of more than 1,5 billion tons of some of the best phosphoric rock in the world. This is equivalent to 92 more years of life for the mine with current targeted annual production"

    2. Blending of ore from different sources to improve grade of one lower grade source.
    Seeing as Foskor's grade is higher than ours, I think we can rule this one out too.

    That leaves one other possibility that I know of and that is blending to reduce the concentration of deleterious elements - unwanted contaminants. E.g. heavy metals that you want to keep below a certain concentration in fertilisers. I have heard MNB's phosphate is very low in cadmium so a buyer might want to blend with their higher cadmium ore to bring the blended concentration of cadmium and perhaps other contaminants in that ore down to safer levels.

    From the DFS, pg 14
    "These phases are clearly seen in the assayresults and show grouped distributions of Fe2O3-Al2O3, SiO2 and CaO-P2O5. Except for MgOand K2O, other oxides have very low grades. In the lower grade layers the distributions aremore complex and dolomite is a major component of most of these sediments. Contaminantssuch and Cadmium, base metals and uranium are low (where analysed)."
