Here is a broader picture of inflation in Angola. It was extraordinarily high in 2000 but life went on and the inflation rate fell rapidly into 2006. It was higher in 2022 than it was in 2023 and yet Minbos's updated capex was reduced regardless. The inflation rate of the local currency was not as important - if at all - as the changes made to the required plant. The rate of inflation is forecast to fall after this year to its lowest levels in over 20 years.
