What’s changed since my last report is the market has fallen from 5118 to below 4000 points and that’s a loss of more than 20 per cent. CSL, a blood products company, has fallen less than 10 per cent and most of that was on October 10. Buy more CSL at these lower prices. When the market starts to recover, and it will soon, badly bleeding long-term investors will be searching for quality companies with little or no debt and strong balance sheets.
Solagran (SLA)
This is one of the best small cap opportunities in the market and an Australian biotechnology company. In July 2007, the Russian Ministry of Health registered Solagran’s product Bioeffectives as a new pharmaceutical substance, together with a medicine based on Bioeffectives called Ropren, specifically for the treatment of chronic liver disease. Although not yet fully appreciated by the wider medical community, the role of polyprenols (long chain isoprenoid alcohols) in the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders is extremely significant.
