There is so much about our food supply that needs regulation.
People need to be educated to eat visually non conforming food that is otherwise sound.
Manufacturers likewise must find a way to use it.
The only way around it is to mandate by way of regulation to stop the outrageous wastage.
The reason for the size and shape restrictions is simply because straight carrots are easier to stack and cheaper therefore to transport.
Such "Market forces" that compel dumping of waste food is outrageous.

I recall my parents buying fruit and veg for a song because they were nonconforming shapes.

Anyway, it takes some outliers who are influential among peers to get on board with AHZ products and the rest will follow.
