record keeping

Sometime over the past week I read a recommendation for a program that keeps tracks of all your buys, sells etc for taxation purposes. I was sure it was on this Forum but I have gone back through heaps of the threads and cannot locate anything on it

I currently use a excel spreadsheet that I have set up but am sure there is something better out there. If somebody can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
